I know my codes!

I just won $50!!! Allow me to explain…

Tonight our Honor Council, Judicial Board, and Student Advocates hosted a Jeopardy style game show. The questions were about the various codes that each and every Mary Baldwin Student must follow, and I WON!!!

When I was asked to play, I had to warn the girls that I play to win, I don’t lose!

Now I have this $50 to spend…what shall I do?!

8 Before 8

1. Started the literature review for thesis

2. Got a Raspberry Chi Tea from Coffee on the Corner

3.  New coat from Victoria’s Secret arrived in the mail

4. Finished my to-do list outside of homework for the day

5. Cut the dead leaves off of my plant

6.  Started my Philosophy presentation of the ethics of caring

7. Met with the reference librarian for some more research advice

8. Talked to my little sister and finding me a new pair of crazy socks

This is common

There is always a book on my desk and I am always reading and highlighting something.

Senior Year, again

This title will probably come up A LOT in the coming weeks. I am looking right down the road and the light at the end of the tunnel is graduation. This light is about the size of a pin head. By December it should be the size of a dime, but May, oh May, it will be the size of the sun. :-) In case you are wondering, May 24th will be the exact day that it will all be over and life starts over again for me. Another post another day…

I start the literature review for my thesis this week. I have to get it started, once I get it started it will get done right? Right. So I just have to keep on truckin and find my 25 plus sources that build the foundation of the study that I conduct in the Spring.

This year is busy, just as busy as past but I have the thesis looming over my head like God. Not really but kind of, I don’t think that I just offended my religion, but it does kind of feel that way.

Everyday my to-do list is long and seems over whelming. I love the days that I get it all done, I LOVE crossing things off my list, however, it doesn’t always get completed and that just makes the next days’ list even longer. But what ever this is senior year and I am going to love it, every busy, sleep deprived, overworked minute of it!

By the way, I totally think that I rocked my Media Law and Ethics test! At least I think I did, I also still think I know the appropriation tort and all of the other privacy torts, but well will find out on Thursday!

On law…

I have a test tomorrow in my media law and ethics class. This isn’t easy people. I can’t believe that I wanted to be a lawyer way back when. Glad I found the PR industry, I would pulling my hair out if I was pre-law right now.

Longer post tomorrow, I hope. Back to law…

Money Matters

Apparently the trend these days is to talk about the economy in a post. Well I am going to follow this trend and give my two cents.

First of all, I don’t fully understand all this economy stuff. I read the headlines and it seems that everyday something has dropped an insane amount of points and this is a bad thing. Okay, well what do we do about it? The answer, no one really knows. They (the government) is trying to fix the problem, but can the problem really be fixed? I don’t want to come across uninformed about the situation, but it really doesn’t directly effect me at this moment.

My philosophy on money is to have enough to be comfortable in life. If being comfortable means buying name brand everything and the ability to drop $400 on a pair of shoes, well great, I hope that you are prepared to work for that. I always seem to have just enough for the life that I have right now. I don’t have a job, I am dependent on my parents. But some day that is going to end and I will have to support myself, that means really paying attention to what I spend money on.

So for now I am not going to worry. When my sister and I were little, we were always told that we didn’t need to worry about money matters. I am so grateful that my parents did that, because I really have the rest of my life to worry about money and the economy. I am in college, I will graduate, get a kick ass PR job and enjoy life, even if I can’t afford name brands of everything, I will be happy with what I have. That is really all that matters in life, just be happy.

And buy the way, I just bought the most adorable coat from Victoria’s Secret, on SALE I might add:-)

Good Times

Tonight was the last night of my vacation in Annapolis. I love school and doing all of the work, but I have to remember to take a break here and there and give my head a rest. So tonight Mary made wonderful tacos and I made margaritas. We also had some people from Germany join us for dinner which made it very interesting. It is so fascinating to learn and hear about other countries then my own.

Greetings from Annapolis

Fall Break has officially arrived! After getting on the train yesterday afternoon and a small stop in DC, I was finally able to crash at our former neighbors house from Lancaster. They live in a great neighborhood right outside Annapolis and right near the water. Today was spent in downtown Annapolis, shopping and eating. Found a great top at the White House, Black Market store and did some shopping for my former high school teacher, who is now one of Mom’s co-workers. The things I do for people! No seriously, I love shopping! Tomorrow I will hopefully get the chance to see some more of the Navel Academy and maybe meet some people…

Annapolis Love

Sunday I get to take a break from life. Well I hope I do, I have two very small goals in terms of school work that have to get done in order for me to enjoy my Fall Break. So far I think that I will reach those goals, I just have to stay focused! So I thought as I took this small break before dinner I would list why I love going to Annapolis.

• Rick & Mary’s House • In between class at the Navel Academy • Mary’s cooking • the Mexican restaurant • The Pink Crab • Being by the water • Hanging out with Kendal and Kyle • Talking about the good ole AV • Seeing familiar faces • Walking around downtown

If you have never had the opportunity to go to Annapolis, I suggest you do, it is a beautiful place and I for one have fallen in love with it!

Currently my life is busy but boring. I realize that could be considered an oxymoron, so allow me to elaborate. The subject of communication is all that I have on my mind these days. I am busy with senior work and the research methods class that I have to take. It is a wonderful class and I love my fellow students (there are only 7 of us). But it is still hard for us to think about anything other then the task at hand. Now I am sure that it is common and totally normal for seniors in college to be going through this; but since that is the only thing on our mind 24/7, as the case right now is, that is all we can talk about. Forget having a conversation with someone about some type of pop culture thing, that is what is happening right now and it would be a one sided conversation. We are so wrapped up in this particular project, along with the other classes that we take, one of us hadn’t showered since Saturday. I am not that person, trust me, but that just gives you an idea about how serious we take our classes.

So I can’t seem to find a title to fit this blog, since it is really about nothing. Nothing remotely exciting has happened to me in that past few days. And if it has, I have completely forgotten about it and am focused on other things. I do know that there is a bottle of wine in my room that I opened on Sunday, and I hear it calling my name. I may not be able to drink much, but I sure do enjoy sitting in my chair, not thinking about anything all, except the task at hand. Which for me right now, this very moment, is enjoying a glass of wine!
