A few more weeks

There are only a few weeks left in the semester. This is total crunch time, nothing else matters except getting the work done, studying for the tests, writing the papers, turning in drafts of thesis, and so on. There fore some daily habits go by the way side in order to make time for such things.

One of my dear friends who I love oh so much has gotten so caught up in work she hasn’t showered in a few days. We all love her, but will be THRILLED when she takes a shower. That is an extreme example of course and I would never do anything like that, oh no! However I am finding that in the beginning of the year I worked out everyday, picked up my room, did dishes daily, and so on. I am now down to working out at least once maybe twice a week and I do the dishes once a week. Thank goodness I have more then one bowl.

This is just a prime example of the college life style. Who cares if the bed isn’t made, you are living at school to go to school and make the grades. And that is just what I am doing! Entropy…bring it on!

Funny From Daddy

My father is so funny! He sends me these things and this one I thought I should post!

A Polish man moved to the USA and married an American girl.

Although his English was far from perfect, they got along very well until one
day he rushed into a lawyer’s office and asked him if he could arrange a
divorce.

Have you any grounds?
Yes, an acre and a half a nice little home.

No, I mean what is the foundation of this case?
It is made of concrete.

I don’t think you understand. Does either of you have a grudge?
No, we have a carport, and not need one.

I mean, what are your relations like?
All my relations still in Poland .

Is there any infidelity in your marriage?
We have hi-fidelity stereo and good DVD player.

Does your wife beat you up?
No, I always up before her.

Is your wife a nagger?
No, she white.

Why do you want this divorce?
She is going to kill me.

What makes you think that?
I got proof.

What kind of proof ?
She is going to poison me.

She bought a bottle at a drugstore and put it on shelf in bathroom. I can read, and it says ‘Polish Remover’

A Day in DC

dscn1012.JPG

The Capital was dead today, it was not busy with all the hussel and bussel that I had expected. This morning I got up and survived and two and half hour bus ride into DC. After getting dropped off at the National Gallery of Art I head to the House of Representatives Office building to have a tour of the Capital with a staff member of Congressmen McCarthy’s.

The tour was very interesting, I learned a lot and had a slight inkling to want to work in politics, but alas, it is gone. I thought that it would be a busy place, but it was so quite. Many of the legislative assistants weren’t back yet from campaigning. Guess that is how your life is when in politics. That inkling is coming back…

After that I headed off to grab some Starbucks (after using my iKiley to find the nearest Starbucks) then walked over to the National Art Gallery to look at some art and do a little shopping before I got back on the bus.

Then it was time for a bond fire, the Freshman Fall Fire to be exact. No, we did not burn the freshman we, as in STARs, just provided the bond fire and some hot coco and cookies. Now I have had a bath and need to go to bed, for tomorrow is Thursday and I have to do laundry, go to class, and then get some homework done.

I know my codes!

I just won $50!!! Allow me to explain…

Tonight our Honor Council, Judicial Board, and Student Advocates hosted a Jeopardy style game show. The questions were about the various codes that each and every Mary Baldwin Student must follow, and I WON!!!

When I was asked to play, I had to warn the girls that I play to win, I don’t lose!

Now I have this $50 to spend…what shall I do?!

Senior Year, again

This title will probably come up A LOT in the coming weeks. I am looking right down the road and the light at the end of the tunnel is graduation. This light is about the size of a pin head. By December it should be the size of a dime, but May, oh May, it will be the size of the sun. :-) In case you are wondering, May 24th will be the exact day that it will all be over and life starts over again for me. Another post another day…

I start the literature review for my thesis this week. I have to get it started, once I get it started it will get done right? Right. So I just have to keep on truckin and find my 25 plus sources that build the foundation of the study that I conduct in the Spring.

This year is busy, just as busy as past but I have the thesis looming over my head like God. Not really but kind of, I don’t think that I just offended my religion, but it does kind of feel that way.

Everyday my to-do list is long and seems over whelming. I love the days that I get it all done, I LOVE crossing things off my list, however, it doesn’t always get completed and that just makes the next days’ list even longer. But what ever this is senior year and I am going to love it, every busy, sleep deprived, overworked minute of it!

By the way, I totally think that I rocked my Media Law and Ethics test! At least I think I did, I also still think I know the appropriation tort and all of the other privacy torts, but well will find out on Thursday!

On law…

I have a test tomorrow in my media law and ethics class. This isn’t easy people. I can’t believe that I wanted to be a lawyer way back when. Glad I found the PR industry, I would pulling my hair out if I was pre-law right now.

Longer post tomorrow, I hope. Back to law…
